We have since adopted 7 bunnies from Brambley Hedge Rabbit Rescue. They love being our toy and treat testers. They let us know what they like and what they don't. The first is Jack. He is a 3 year old black Satin mix. He and 5 of his siblings were victims of an after Easter park dump in the middle of July in the heat of the Arizona summer. The next bunny we adopted was Bella, a 2 year old black and white Mini Lop. She had been abandoned by a family who didn't want her anymore. Then there is Jesse. He is a 2 year old white/brown Hotot who was rescued from another animal shelter by Brambley Hedge. He was on the euthanize list because he had a small scratch on his nose and therefore was considered "unadoptable". We then made a trip to the shelter to deliver some toys. We came with a box full of toys and left with a family of 4 bunnies. Momma Mia had a litter of 5 baby bunnies when she came to the shelter, 3 boys and 2 girls. The boys were separated from the girls at the shelter. Two of the boys had been adopted leaving the last boy, Bogey by himself. He came to the next few adoption days but was overlooked. The day we went to the shelter we felt so bad for him we asked if we could put him back with his mom and sisters to see if they got along. Well, the moment Bogey was put in the exercise pen with his family he ran right over to his mom and started grooming her. He then took turns grooming his sisters, then back to his mom. It was like a scene out of a movie, a long lost child being reunited with his mom. He was so happy we didn't have the heart to see them separated again so we took all four home. Their new names are Momma Mia, Josey, Madden and of course, the boy who started it all, Bogart (Bogey for short). We would like to thank Brambley Hedge Rabbit Rescue for taking such great care of these bunnies until they found their way into our homes.
