The House Rabbit Society of Missouri is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing abandoned domestic rabbits and providing educational information on bunny care. Rabbits are intelligent, playful, social creatures that make excellent companion animals. Unfortunately, rabbits are also the third most abandoned pet in the United States. Few shelters accept them or have the facilities to appropriately care for them. In the St. Louis region more than 20 different shelters and rescue groups contact HRS of Missouri for help with stray and surrendered rabbits. At any given time there are almost 200 foster bunnies in the homes of our volunteers. They are provided medical care, spay/neuter, a highly nutritional diet, litter-box training, socialization and permanent, qualified, indoor adoptive homes. Those unable to be adopted receive sanctuary care in a loving foster home. HRS of Missouri provides information on the many aspects of rabbit care including diet, health, litter training, housing, toys, exercise and behavior through a variety of channels. You can learn more about our numerous educational programs including monthly meetings, our annual Bunny Expo, adoption events and more at our website, http://www.mohrs.petfinder.org.
During 2007 we passed a very exciting milestone—1,000 rabbits adopted! As we continue our mission, we thank everyone who is able to help the bunnies by donating towards their care. Please feel free to visit House Rabbit Society of Missouri
for more information or to donate directly. One hundred percent of the donations made through The Bunny Basics will go directly to help the bunnies at the House Rabbit Society of Missouri.
In addition to monetary donations, the House Rabbit Society of Missouri also appreciates donations in kind from their wish list.
